Deb’s earned a strong reputation as one of the region’s
“Leading ladies of the blues”, and has gained a loyal
following
and performs regularly
at local venues throughout the region!
With
a strong foundation in the blues, Deb’s repertoire includes
songs from Aretha Franklin, Bonnie Raitt, and Koko Taylor. Seitz
is also inspired by Janis Joplin: she won the “Janis Joplin
Memorial Singoff” in 2002, and in 2003 was named Best Unsigned
Vocalist at Chicago’s House of Blues. Deb’s forceful
delivery of Koko Taylor’s “Voodoo Woman” leaves
you wanting more.
“I
like to give audiences what they want,” continued Seitz. “You’ll
hear Muddy Waters, BB King and Lazy Lester at my shows, but you’ll
also get Tracy Chapman or John Prine through blues-tinted glasses."
"While
the musical resume of Lockport, Ill., vocalist Deb Seitz may pale
in comparison to those of her bandmates, when she opens up those powerful
pipes, it is made perfectly clear that she takes a back seat to nobody.
- Tom Lounges, Midwest Beat Magazine
Seitz' vocals on "You Can
Have My Husband" and "It's 2 AM" are ready for the
big leagues (and larger venues)
- Eric Steiner, Cosmik Debris (www.cosmik.com)
While
vocal comparisons to Janis Joplin are natural with Seitz, she has
a better vocal range than Joplin ever did
Seitz smiled
all the way through, with her energetic stage presence building
rapport with the audience.

Backstage-water
& towels would be great. Some food backstage would be great (nothing
big-pizza is always great/meat trays...something like that.)
