Hawkeye Herman sent this item to us from American Profile magazine/newspaper saying, “I ain't makin' any comments on this '”blues news” item, I'm just sayin' ...

Todd Rundgren, 61, who had pop hits such as "Hello It's Me" and "Can We Still Be Friends," has been touring with a theatrical production of his 1973 album A Wizard, A True Star. His last CD, Arena, was released in 2008, and he's working on an album of cover songs from the catalog of Blues legend Robert Johnson.

"The idiom of the Blues is not that alien to me," says Rundgren, who began his career in a Philadelphia Blues band called Woody's Truck Stop.

"The challenge is that Robert Johnson has been so copiously covered, especially by one of my heroes, Eric Clapton." Rundgren lives with his wife, Michele, in Hawaii.”
