Blues is back!

Blues is Back on Maxwell Street…at least for Sunday brunch before TV sports begin each week at Junior’s Sports Lounge, 724 W. Maxwell in Chicago. Fruteland Jackson and Fernando Jones, Blues teachers extraordinaire, singer songwriters and masters of guitar and harmonica, have put together a family show which will run each Sunday from noon to 2 pm through the end of April. Other acts TBA will take the stage in May. It’s a little odd playing in the new, gentrified version of Maxwell Street, but folks of all ages showed up last Sunday for the 2008 season of this musical sport. 2008 season of this musical sport. A similar series played last summer featuring Fruteland, Elmore James Jr., Eddie Taylor Jr., Barrelhouse Bonni, Larry Taylor, and Piano C. Red. Fruteland says, c’mon down and join us!
