CORNBREAD MORSELS IV - A Seven Pack of Tiny Little Tidbits Worth Sinking Your Teeth Into!

Corey Stevens – Albertville
Corey Stevens – Albertville
2007 – Ruf Records

Corey (a Centralia, Illinois native) plays musical tribute to Albert King with 10 songs Albert wrote/covered. Great guitar playing, vocally it lacked the intensity these songs deserved though it did kind of remind me of Robert Cray barring Little Brother which I thought I was listening to Jimmie Vaughan. I Get Evil was outstanding. Albertville is a really good CD (Stevens sixth) and worthy of repeated listening too.
Mike Zito – Superman
Mike Zito – Superman

In 2006 Zito released Superman, the fourth CD from native St. Louisan. Superman features Zito’s rock influenced blues guitar, soulful vocals. Give it a spin, it’s no wonder Mike consistently plays over 250 shows a year. The title track is great!
Demian Band – Bull Blues
Demian Band – Bull Blues
2005 release from the Demian Band

This three-man band from Spain is outstanding. 14-tracks, 12 originals, a SRV cover and Jimi cover with some songs in English and some in Spanish. Boys and girls, listen to Cornbread – this is good, rockin’-blues with a level of in your face intensity. The CD was dynamite… www.demianband.com/index.php - tell em’ Cornbread sent you.
Tinsley Ellis – Moment Of Truth
Tinsley Ellis – Moment Of Truth
2007 – Alligator

This is the 11th career release from the fifty year old guitarist/vocalist/songwriter from Atlanta. 12-songs, some country blues straight from the Delta, the rest southern rockin’ blues. The songs are all good. This CD is among the best in my collection – this get’s a strong buy, play, repeat often!!
David Gogo – Skeleton Key David Gogo – Skeleton Key
2006 – Cordova Bay Entertainment Group

Thirteen songs for electric blues aficionados with an R&B feel and groove, with Stevie Wonder and Depeche Mode covers. Skeleton Key is Gogo, the Nanaimo, British Columbia born bluesmans’ fifth CD and blends blues, soul and rock.
Mem Shannon Live – A night at Tiptina
2007 – Northern Blues Music

Mem’s first live album and some of his best funky blues songs from his last five albums, recorded February 9, 2007 at Tiptina’s in New Orleans. The band is tight, the guitar playing is smokin’.
Charles Burton Blues Band – I Wouldn’t Lie To You Charles Burton Blues Band – I Wouldn’t Lie To You

2006 - Burton is a jazz/blues guitarist and singer from Southern California. This is his second CD, "I Wouldn't Lie To You," has all original songs. They reflect his love of blues music, and electric blues guitar in particular. I enjoyed this CD, particularly Cuba. www.charlesburton.com

'Cornbread' Ciao' for now, peace.
