ShannonRJ Mischo - He Came To Play Jimmy Thackery and the Drivers - We Got It
{2002 | Telarc}

Jimmy Thackery and the Drivers have been around for a while now. The one and only time I have seen them perform was at Generations (back when they did blues shows.) I was overly impressed by the rhythm and horn section. Thackery has distinct vocals with a rich and gravely sound. His guitar work is also excellent. Jimmy states that "I put all my senses on hold and find the zone and follow what's inside. There's electricity from your mind to your heart to your fingers. You just try and remember to breathe." He was the co-founder of the Nighthawks and ended his time with them in 1987. Since then, Jimmy has been on the road as a solo musician for 15 years doing nearly 300 shows a year. Below you will find a mini review on his latest CD as well as band member information.
