Stevie Ray Vaughan Remembrance Ride and Concert
Stevie Ray Vaughan Remembrance Ride and Concert
The 15th Annual combination motorcycle parade and Blues concert benefiting the Stevie Ray Vaughan Memorial Scholarship Fund will take place on Saturday and Sunday, October 3 and 4 at various locations in and around Dallas, Texas. The police escorted parade departs from the world's largest Hooters in Dallas' West End, proceeds 30 miles to Cowboys in Arlington for the Sunday afternoon concert starring The Edgar Winter Group, followed by an all-star jam at Sons of Hermann Hall in Dallas, Texas. The weekend warms up with the SRV Pre-Party at East Texas Choppers in Terrell, Texas.

A custom S.R.V. Tribute Guitar built by Texas Guitar Workshop will be raffled at the concert. Also included in the package is a SRV replica guitar strap by Christian Brooks, a copy of You Can't Stop A Comet by Cutter Brandenburg, and a copy of Stevie Ray Vaughan – Day By Day, Night After Night by Craig Hopkins. Raffle tickets are $5.00 and can be purchased through the event website and at each venue on October 3 & 4, need not be present to win.

All proceeds benefit the S.R.V. Memorial Scholarship Fund established by Martha Vaughan, Stevie's mother. The scholarships are awarded to middle school students at W.E. Greiner Middle School in Oak Cliff upon completion of their eighth grade year. The students may apply the scholarship to the college of their choice upon high school graduation.

In 1991 Governor Ann Richards proclaimed October 3rd as “Stevie Ray Vaughan Day” in the state of Texas, which is celebrated the first Sunday each October.
