Blues Showcase 2005 |
 Once
again the Baby Blues Showcase brought the 'new blood'
of music to the forefront. As an art form, it's essential
that the next generation of musicians embrace the
art form of Blues music, and keep the flame alive.
Thanks to the efforts of the Baby Blues showcase and
the folks behind this effort, the Blues will continue
to be a strong voice in the musical world.
This year showcased some outstanding talent. Among
the highlights witnesed were the Bottoms Up Blues
Gang, the 14 year old prodigy Marquise Knox, the blazing
harmonica of Jason Ricci, the vocal prowess of
Erika Johnson, and the gospel sounds of Angelic Express.
Proceeds from this event were earmarked for the St.
Louis Blues Society mission fund, a resource for musicians
in time of need. Artistically, and from a fundraising
standpoint, this event continues to be a jewel in
the St. Louis musical world.
