Fight Crohns

Publisher's note -
All STLBlues readers, we need you. Behind the scenes here at STLBlues, we know only too well how illness can steal away those we love. Peter, AKA Cornbread, lost his wife Lisa to Crohn's disease earlier this year, at the young age of 39. She bravely battled this disease since the age of 19. As some of you may know, I lost my wife
Shauna to cancer 4 years ago. To this day, besides the music, she inspires my passion for STLBlues. Besides being our loves, Lisa and Shauna were close friends, and they'll live on forever here at STLBlues. This is one way how. Please join us in Peter's mission........

"Dear Friends and Family,

Lisa CohenI will be participating in the St. Louis Take Steps Crohn's & Colitis Walk on 5/1/2010, in the late afternoon or early evening at Forest Park. By forming a team in Lisa's Honor, I have made a bold commitment to making a difference in the lives of those suffering from digestive diseases. Please support my efforts by joining my team.

Lisa was nineteen when she was diagnosed with Crohn's, she struggled with the disease for twenty years and died this past June just months before her 40th birthday. I've set a goal to raise $3,500 that will help go for research and Crohn's & Colitis awareness. Please consider walking with my kids and I, donating or both.

The Take Steps for Crohn’s & Colitis Walk will be a fun-filled evening with food, music and kid’s activities. We will celebrate our success as a team as we walk in the 2-3 mile event. Our fundraising will support research efforts and patient programs in our community.

One in every 200 people suffer daily with digestive diseases. With the support of communities nationwide, the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation has raised much needed funds that, through research, have brought us closer to a cure. For those who live with these chronic diseases, life is a roller coaster of active and remitting disease. However, the opportunity to make life more manageable for patients who live day to day with intense pain, the threat of long term hospital stays and multiple surgeries has never been greater.

Join me today by registering for the walk. Thanks in advance for your support!"

Peace & Love.
Peter
