RICH FABEC BAND :: BIO
The Rich Fabec Band
The Rich Fabec Band has been impressing audiences in Illinois, Kentucky and Missouri for years. The RFB has gained a reputation of musicianship and showmanship. Area guitar players and instructors come out to watch Rich work over his Stratocaster and pick up some licks.

The band started when Rich Fabec (guitar/vocals) and Danny Vinson (bass) got together to jam with a drummer friend. “We didn’t know where it would lead, we just wanted to see if it worked and if our playing styles would blend,” said Rich. They did! When they started to get serious, they got John “Big Sound” Shadowens on drums. Since that time the band has played at Herrinfesta Italiana, Hot August Blues Festival, Jenn Jam, The Stlblues.net Blues Royale, Harrah’s Casino, and other local clubs in the area. The band has released two CD’s Talking to Shadows and Name Your Poison. Both have received great reviews and international attention and airplay.

"Name Your Poison has all the guitar flash of a modern blues CD, but Fabec adds to the musicianship socially conscious lyrics that he delivers with a preachers ferver."
- Carbondale Nightlife
